She graduated with a degree in journalism and political science from Carleton University. Her career as a journalist took her from Canada and around the world, working for CTV News and CBC News, and also for the Globe and Mail, The Canadian Press and other organizations. She was a business anchor and reporter, and a voice and performance coach.

Dr. Solomon is a retired educator. Her focus has always been social justice in education. She has presented a series of lectures “Great Trials That Changed The Course of History” at the University of Toronto, Ryerson University
